BUT we can make the decision to look at the bright side of this lockdown, and here are some major positives the team at Veemance think can come out of this lockdown:

Get closer to God. We have really enjoyed exploring our Bibles more and having discussions about different Bible versus. What we’ve also really enjoyed is finding versus that specifically deal with how we are feeling on the day! How good is the Bible in encouraging us?

Focus on any health goals you may have but have been putting off. Since restaurants are closed and we aren’t able to dine in, this is a fabulous opportunity to cook more and eat exciting new foods that are healthy. Our aim is to have more fun in the kitchen and eat more greens - such a simple yet super healthy goal.

Focus on fitness goals you’ve been avoiding. One of the biggest challenges we’ve found is the gyms being closed. We love going to the gym and our team have struggled a little with not being able to head out to the gym to get our daily gym fix. So we have set a goal to get at least 10,000 steps a day (safely and with masks whilst social distancing). We have also set a mini challenge for things we usually don’t enjoy at the gym, for example burpees (who actually enjoys burpees???). And we have found this has turned out to be a lot of fun (yet very challenging - thank you push-ups).

Meet new people online and make new friends. When you message someone new on Veemance. it could turn out to be a beautiful friendship or even a beautiful relationship, so take a leap of faith and message someone new everyday during the lockdown. Message someone in another state, see how they are going with the lockdown and what challenges they are facing. It will be a fun way to meet new people with a mini goal in connecting with someone new.

Ask yourself what is really important to you. A lot of us are working from home whilst a lot of us aren’t able to work at all. This is such a good opportunity for reflection and possible rediscovery. Some great questions to ask? - What’s really important in your life? - What do I love doing with my time? - What have I always wanted to do but never had the courage to do? - What new things do I want to learn? - Where do I see myself in 5 years? - How can I be more charitable?

Plan 3 things you’ll do when the lockdown is over, YAY, the fun stuff! This will give you something to look forward to and will keep you positive and excited about the future!

Sometimes there’s treasure in the unexpected.
