Meander through the markets
Your city will likely have local weekend markets, and the bustling, busy atmosphere, full of excitement is the perfect atmosphere for a relaxing date. There are so many different markets to choose from, from farmers, to craft to a little bit of everything, the options are endless! Try choosing a market that has heaps of food trucks and options, so that you can grab some breakfast or lunch and sit together, soaking up the sunshine. It’s such a chill and relaxing environment and makes for a great date no matter what stage of the relationship you’re at. For first dates, you can both break the ice by doing some people-watching while you’re there! Here are some links to the best markets in Perth, Melbourne and Sydney.
A romantic picnic in the park
This one is a classic, but of course, it’s classic for a reason. It doesn’t get more romantic than cosying up next to your special someone, seated in a leafy park, glass of wine in hand. From sandwiches to food platters, bubbles or homemade pink lemonade, pair it with some stylish picnicware, great conversation and some cards or a board game for a picturesque date.
Outdoor film/ Drive-in
A Drive-in date is always such good fun! Wind the clock back to the 60s with their retro, pastel-coloured diners, grab some buttered popcorn and enjoy the film! This date is the best way to cuddle whilst watching a movie! Drive-in dates are also a great option in post-lockdown times, as it provides a more socially distant option from other people. Whether it’s an intimate night out, or a group date, going to the drive-in movies is a guaranteed fun time.
Stargazing
Stargazing is the perfect night-time date for a warm summer night and will make you feel like you are the only two people in the whole world. Find a place with low light pollution, so somewhere away from the city and more towards the bush is ideal. However, on a clear evening, you may even be able to stargaze from the comfort of your backyard. When planning, have a look at your state’s official parks website for local dark-sky parks and stargazing sites. You’ll be surprised how many you’ll find!
Make the most of the experience and turn it into a romantic dinner under the stars. Bring a comfortable rug, surround yourselves with plush cushions and dine on a delicious charcuterie board.
Go for a nature walk
As the weather warms up, it is the perfect time to soak in the beauty of God’s creation and immerse yourself in nature. There’s no better way to spend time, amongst the beauty of the natural world, than with that special someone by your side. Head over to your local hiking trails, and set off for a day of adventure and fun! Much love,
